FFS Kristen, at least scan the Wikipedia entry before writing an article!
Also: is Superleggera the sexiest model name ever, or what? It just reeks of beautiful women sipping champagne by Lake Como.

Also, I think you mean obscure. Obtuse is a whole different thing.

I gathered that much, but what’s your actual problem with her article?
and no, I’m using obtuse correctly: ie: not clear or precise.

I think his gripe is that the DB5 was the last Aston to use the superleggera construction technique

My problem is that her article makes it pretty clear she hasn’t bothered to look into the heritage or meaning of the name.
The article is about how stoked she is that Aston is building a new Superleggera model, but the only thing that’s actually known about it is that it’s called the Superlegggera. So since that’s presumably part of what she’s claiming to be stoked about, maybe she could demonstrate that she understands the context. It’s not a background detail in this instance, it’s the one fact she’s working with.
Her only reference to it is “Touring designed a light-weight aluminum body for Aston Martin and deemed it the “Superleggera” model”. Superlegggera was a patented construction technique. They didn’t “deem” it Superleggera, they “built” it Superleggera and then chose to advertise the fact. It’s like saying that Porsche built a new model in the 70s and deemed it the 911 Turbo: factually correct but completely misses the point.
And you might want to revisit obscure vs obtuse :-)

Was that so hard?
I agree, she’s clearly stopped reading a particular point in the road and track article and misinterpreted that the DB5 and 6 also were built by Carozzia Touring and wore the Superleggera badge.
but she also linked the road and track article for everyone who wanted more info so? yeah
Here’s the obtuse definition from a couple of proper dictionaries.
https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/obtuse
1.1 Difficult to understand, especially deliberately so.
‘some of the lyrics are a bit obtuse’
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/obtuse
b : difficult to comprehend : not clear or precise in thought or expression

“ Was that so hard? ”
Didn’t think it was necessary, TBH. It didn’t strike me as a particularly obscure ( not readily understood or clearly expressed: Merriam Webster :-) ) expression of a view that she hasn’t done basic homework on her subject, and there’s a bunch of people in the comments section of the FP article making variations on the same point.
Go figure: if we all understood each other it would be a much more boring world...
“ she also linked the road and track article for everyone who wanted more info “
I also have a bit of a problem with Gawker’s habit of mashing up content from other media sources, adding nothing of substance, and calling it new. But that’s a whole ‘nother conversation, and by no means a Kristen thing in particular. And anyway it’s all free, so who am I to bitch about it.

My main gripe is there’s been too many vague-booking style oppo posts that just leave you scratching your head at what the point is.
You’re right, I don’t think her style of writing is anything new for Gawker. Some times there’s long format articles that tell some really great stories... the others are like these that are probably a mash of info from press packs and aggregated from other news articles. Kotaku is notorious for it too.
We can probably just consider ourselves lucky it’s not an opinion piece about some entitled pseudo-deep nonsense that the rest of Gawker media has fallen into.
I guess using obtuse in the way I did hasn’t made it to the US?
